At the beginning of 2007, Tower Software began the arduous task of trying to
recruit a Channel Marketing Manager for the UK. However, whilst they went
through the selection process, they needed certain marketing tasks to be
administered. Collumbell Communications were appointed to undertake the
marketing activity until a suitable internal marketing manager was appointed.
Tower Software’s Marketing Manager, Philippa Ochonski explained,
“We really
wanted to recruit the right person for the job so we were willing to wait until
that person came along. However, the whole process took a lot longer than
expected and we had the position vacant for almost a year. If we did not have
the support of Collumbell Communications during this time, we would have been
unable to be so fastidious in our search and make such tremendous headway in our
marketing activities.”
In particular, Collumbell designed the channel partner programme to enable the
launch of Tower Software’s channel strategy. While Tower Software has worked
with technology, channel and consultancy partners in the UK for many years, this
new Business Partner Programme elevates these relationships and marks an
improved structure that benefits both the Company and its partners.
Acting as Tower Software’s outsourced Channel Marketing Manager, Collumbell
successfully managed the programme within the allocated budget and timeframe.
Activities included:
- Creation, copy and design of the Partner Programme Guide
- Specification, build and management of the Partner Portal
- Integration of the Partner Programme within the current Tower Software website
- Production of a comprehensive Channel Marketing Plan
- Established processes and guidelines to enable co-operative funding, joint
campaigns and co-branded collateral
“Collumbell has essentially become part of the Tower team”, explains Philippa.
“Even now that we have recruited a Channel Marketing Manager, we are keen to
